A Message From Nurse Eddin's
From the Nurse’s Desk 🩺✨
As we continue to enjoy the beautiful fall season, it's important to take extra steps to keep our students healthy and ready to learn! The flu and other seasonal illnesses can spread quickly, but a few simple habits can make a big difference.
Here are some ways to help your child stay healthy:
-
Encourage frequent handwashing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
-
Remind children to cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or their elbow-not their hands.
-
Keep children home when they are sick, especially if they have a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea. If your child has a fever, they MUST remain at home 24 hours after the fever breaks without treatment (Tylenol/Ibuprofen).
-
Make sure vaccinations are up to date, including the annual flu shot.
-
Promote healthy habits-plenty of sleep, balanced meals, and staying active all help boost immunity.
Assisted Devices:
All students requiring assisted devices (ace wrap, cast, boot, brace, etc.) MUST have a doctor's note with the duration of time and restrictions of activities on campus as well as a clearance note to return to FULL/ALL activities.
Vision Screening:
The month of November, I'll be conducting the state mandated vision screening (distance and near) for TK, K, 2nd, & 5th grade, as well as 1st grade males for color. All students requiring further examination/follow-up will bring home a letter indicating the results as well as district resources for free eye exams and glasses.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Let's work together to keep our school community healthy and thriving this season.
Thank you for helping us prevent the spread of illness and keeping our students safe and strong.
