A Message from Nurse Marie Eddins

From the Nurse’s Desk 🩺✨

As we head into the fall and flu season, I want to remind everyone about one of the simplest and most effective ways to stay healthy—handwashing! Washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds helps prevent the spread of colds, flu, and other common viruses. Please encourage your children to wash their hands before eating, after using the restroom, and whenever they cough or sneeze.

Equally important—if your child is feeling sick, please keep them home. Resting at home not only helps them recover more quickly but also helps protect classmates and staff from getting sick.

And a quick reminder—it is field trip season, yay! 🎒 This year, if your child has no medical history or health needs, you are only required to complete one health history form for the school year (unless changes occur). For students with health needs, please complete the two-page form for each excursion when your child has a scheduled field trip so we can ensure their safety and care while away from school.

Together, we can keep our Fairburn community healthy and thriving!
