A note from Nurse Eddins
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As the school year winds down, we must ensure all student medications are safely returned home. Please review the essential health office pickup requirements below:
- Action Required: Parents or authorized adults must sign out medications directly from the health office.
- Safety Protocol: For student safety, medications cannot be sent home in student backpacks.
- Final Deadline: All medications must be picked up by dismissal on the last day of school.
- Disposal Policy: Per school health guidelines, any items remaining after the deadline will be permanently discarded. We are unable to store medications over the summer break.
- Applicable Items: This policy applies to all prescription medications, over-the-counter bottles, emergency inhalers, and EpiPens.
If you need to coordinate an alternate pickup time prior to the final day, please contact the health office staff directly. Thank you for your swift cooperation in keeping our school community safe.
Subject: Urgent: Medication Forms & Instructions for June 6th Overnight Field Trip
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are preparing for our exciting overnight field trip on June 6th. You should have already received three essential health documents: the Field Health History Form, the Over the Counter (OTC) Medication Order Form, and the General Medication Order Form.
Please review the critical guidelines below to ensure your child's medical needs are met during the trip:
📋 Action Required for Medications
- Standard OTC Medications: Your primary care physician must complete the OTC form if your child might need these standard medications.
- Other Medications: Use the Request for Medication to Be Taken During School Hours form for any medication not listed on the standard OTC form.
- Current School Medications: You do not need new orders if your child's medication is already stored in the school health office.
-
Trip Transition: All current campus medications and existing doctor orders will automatically accompany your child on the trip
- 📦 Packaging and Deadlines
- Original Packaging: All OTC medications must remain in their original, unopened manufacturer packaging.
-
Strict Deadline: The health office must receive all completed forms and medications exactly two weeks prior to departure.
